The globes we typically see are standardized and abstracted representations, reducing the Earth’s complexity into a perfectly spherical form. While these globes or maps help us understand the geopolitical relationships between countries in a more cohesive way, our perception of the Earth's specific landscapes and features becomes increasingly singular and fixed. This piece challenges such standardized perceptions of the Earth by magnifying a peeled mandarin to represent a breathing planet—one that is dynamic, evolving, and even a bit strange.
