Renee and the Sea of Flowers
2018; concrete, bronze, wallpaper, stickers; 7ft-2ft-2ft
I used different parts of my body to form the image of an orchid cast in bronze against a sea of flowers. Each flower is a photograph of tourist(s) in Tiananmen Square with small red flower stickers obscuring their faces. This work aims to challenge the relationship between the individual and the collective and the objectification of the female body.
